bob_govv was elected in a four-candidate instant-runoff race decided by a relatively narrow final-round margin. In the second round, bob_govv held 115 to TaIaxn’s 95, eliminating officerjordan10. In the third and final round, bob_govv was elected with 147 votes to TaIaxn’s 122, out of 269 ballots cast against a quota of 135.
The Petitioner’s Case
In the petition, TaIaxn argues bob_govv has shown a pattern of incompetence and abuse of office in his first two weeks, pointing to several specific actions:
- Reversal of a street-naming executive order: The petition states bob_govv reversed a previous executive order from the incumbent County Executive regarding street names, calling the move “unnecessary” and “irregular.”

- Appointments: The petition criticizes two appointments specifically — Lorens20181 as Secretary of the Commerce Office, whose office the petition says will not be operational for up to four weeks rather than the “first week” the petitioner argues it should take, and Atellus as the first Kaslo Township Police Chief, whom the petition notes lacked a certification from the Law Enforcement Standards and Training Academy at the time of appointment and had previously failed Jamestown Police Department applications.
- Department head disputes: The petition references a disagreement between bob_govv and Harrison County Militia Colonel Sheldon_o, an attempt to remove Harrison County Transportation Authority Director DishwasherSushi that the petition says was met with public pushback from multiple County Councilors, and unspecified friction with the Director of the Law Enforcement Standards and Training Academy.
- Public approval: The petition cites an Ro-Span poll on the County Executive’s approval rating as evidence of public dissatisfaction, and notes bob_govv is currently subject to ongoing civil and criminal cases, though the petition does not elaborate on the nature of those cases.

The Incumbent’s Response
In a formal response, the County Executive’s office disputed each of the petition’s core allegations, arguing that recall grounds require legitimate malice, incompetence, or corruption — not policy disagreement.
On the street-naming order, the office said “the rescinding of an executive order by a previous administration is not incompetence” and that “necessity is at the County Executive’s discretion.” On the pardons, the office called the pardon power “absolute” and noted it has since instituted additional safeguards, including a Pardon Board and a Pardon Attorney from the District Attorney’s Office, which the response says “did not exist before.” On the appointments, the office said quality of appointments “is in the eye of the beholder,” noting that every appointment made so far has been approved by the County Council. On the department head disputes, the office argued that dismissal of department heads “is a matter of law,” and that disagreement over legal interpretation does not itself amount to incompetence.
The response concludes: “The Charter has many guard rails on the ability and power of the County Executive. None of these have been breached, and if there are disagreements over the law, the Courts have adjudicated or heard these claims. The Council has not moved for removal of the County Executive despite the aforementioned claims.”
A Rematch, Effectively
