Harrison County voters recalled both County Executive bob_govv and District Attorney FrancisHUnderwood in elections that closed today, removing both officials from office in the same 24-hour vote. The Election Commission has reported results for both races.
The County Executive recall passed 180 to 58, a margin of about 51 points on 238 votes cast. The District Attorney recall passed by a narrower but still decisive margin, 148 to 81, about 29 points on 229 votes cast. Both results clear the simple majority required under the County Charter to remove an official from office.
Both recall elections have been reported by the Election Commission. Both the County Executive and the District Attorney recalls have passed.
Two Petitions, One Ballot
The two recalls arrived on the same ballot from very different starting points. The petition against bob_govv was filed September 22nd by TaIaxn, the runner-up in the Summer 2026 County Executive election, and cleared its 80-signature threshold within a day. The petition against Underwood traced back further, to a September 13th filing by Xolaaz, Underwood’s former Chief Assistant District Attorney, over the handling of The People v. bob_govv and Xolaaz’s firing shortly after that case was referred to a special prosecutor. That petition reached the Charter’s signature threshold on September 26th, the same day polls opened.
Underwood contested the effort against him more visibly than bob_govv contested his own. Underwood issued two public statements, the second calling the petition a “frivolous” response to a personnel dispute and distributing a graphic urging residents to “vote no on frivolous recalls.” bob_govv made comparatively little public case against the recall targeting him in the days before voting.
Reading the Results
- The County Executive recall passed by roughly 76 percent to 24 percent, the wider of the two margins.

What’s Next
The Election Commission has confirmed that Vinnyvxx, President pro tempore of the County Council, is acting County Executive, filling the vacancy left by bob_govv’s removal under the Charter’s line of succession. On the District Attorney’s office, the Commission stated: “FrancisHUnderwood has been removed from his office as the District Attorney of the County of Harrison. Deputy District Attorney ElloM8HowAreYou is acting District Attorney.” The Harrison Independent will continue to follow both transitions as they proceed.
